and More
Each
volume is self-contained and can be used on its
own or in conjunction with others. A4 sized and
perfect bound, they are printed in an easy-to-read
typeface and set out in a logical
order with an introduction and contents page.
The
set of twenty volumes was formerly published
under the title of ADI part 3:Instructor Guides.
They have now been fully revised and
updated in collaboration with a former
Supervising Examiner. He carefully read each one
and used his vast experience of assessing ADIs
and PDIs to make suggestions as to how the books
could be modified and improved in order to be of
most benefit to instructors, particularly those
preparing for the test of ability to instruct.
The
author is a very experienced trainer
of ADIs and has sat in on many Part 3 tests and
discussed the requirements with SEs at test
centres across the country and with senoir staff
at the Driving Standards Agency (DSA).
Brian
M Stratton has also recently visited the DSA
Training Facilities at Barnet and Cardington
to further enhance his training skills with
particular regard to current thinking on
instructional techniques. This coaching was
carried out by an SE, one of a number of SEs
responsible for tutoring trainee SEs in their
Part 3 duties.
These
guides supply practical and useful
information which makes them ideal for
check test revision / preparation - a memory
jogger for the finer points of a very broad
subject - as well as the test of ability to
instruct.
A
Continuous Improvement Policy ensures
that the advice Brian M Stratton offers both in
print and in practical terms is always accurate,
up-to-date and effective.
The DSA shows in its book
'Guide for Driving Instructors' - on pages 94, 134 and 135 - that a Blueprint is one
of the tools available to structure the lesson and ensure there is an opportunity for learning
to take place. This applies both for the ADI Part 3 test and also the Check Test.
Blueprints are displayed in the DSA's book to illustrate
the point that for both the ADI Part 3 test the Check Test that you need a clear plan of action -
a strategy that will enable you to present your lessons in a clear and logical way.
Blueprints do that.
